Qualified immunity is a longstanding judicial doctrine granting government officials like cops basic protections from frivolous civil suits when acting in good faith within the scope of their duties. It’s a bulwark preserving the constitutional order against bad-faith activist efforts to bankrupt and bully all civic authority through perpetual vexatious lawsuits. In short, a firewall preventing total societal breakdown into Mad Max anarchy.
Yet this common-sense legal guardrail against weaponizing the court system is now Public Enemy #1 for the “abolish the police” radicals. Despite the mountains of hard data conclusively debunking systemic discrimination canards, they insist cops are irredeemable bigots deserving zero legal protections from harassment litigation. No matter how split-second the situation or violent the criminal suspect’s behavior, these zealots want a right to trial by ambulance chaser at all times.
Let’s call this depraved agenda what it is: an undisguised effort to functionally de-fang law enforcement by making it outright unaffordable for cities and municipalities to even have police forces at all. Just one massive lawsuit over a single act of justified lethal force would push already struggling jurisdictions into six-figure payouts, or more. Do this enough times, and the financial devastation traps departments and officers in perpetual legal purgatory.
The craven cynics pushing this litigation anarchy no doubt envision bleeding out the rule of law itself through relentless grift. If cops refuse unreasonable ideological restraints knowing their lives could implode into financial ruin any day, many will simply quit. Soon, all that’s left are the most Draconian enforcers, setting off a vicious cycle of further civic disintegration exactly as these insurrectionary arsonists intend.
Throughout the “Defund” death-spiral, the message being sent to those protecting law and order couldn’t be clearer: protect yourselves, your careers, your livelihoods – or protect America’s forgotten souls still clinging to civilization. You can’t possibly serve both. Anarchy, thy name is “Progress.”

Is that what these saboteurs truly wish upon America?

Perhaps that’s the endgame for these arsonists – to finally drag America’s cities back to a state of post-apocalyptic lawless devastation. But for the millions who still crave ordered liberty, these dismantling campaigns mark an intolerable civilizational point of no return.
Our nation simply cannot permit the radical abolition of basic legal buffers letting cops do their jobs without fearing personal financial obliteration at every turn. If protecting those who protect our communities becomes untenably hazardous, the descent into total anarchy accelerates that much quicker.
